I’m a stranger to the meta-doctor process, but since HP Palm is leaving (most or all) legacy devices behind with webOS version 1.4.5, I wanted to see a glimpse of the future. With star developers like JayCanuck and WebOS Internals announcing that their newest apps are 2.x only, and the newest and best music players also are only available on the new software, I got out my old Pre and booted it up. It has 1.4.5 with the bypassactivation patch by Palm on there. This post is to represent the “average” users advance to 2.1 from 1.4.5.
